We all have “a thing”
and most of us, me included,
have “this thing, that thing,
along with so many other things.”
Some things are obvious –
a drug addiction,
a blaring temper,
a lying tongue.
Some things are less obvious –
bitterness,
pride,
a critical spirit.
No matter what it looks like
or what it’s labeled,
regardless of whether it’s seen
or safely hidden out of sight,
our “thing” needs to be dealt with.
Not cut back, but cut off.
Not put aside for awhile,
but put away for good.
This is why we have a Savior.
With God, we can overcome any “thing”.
No”thing” is too hard for Him. (Jeremiah 32:17)
Instead of allowing guilt and condemnation
to build a wall between us and the only
One who can help us,
we need to admit our “thing”
and our need and run straight
into the arms of
our Abba Father, Almighty God,
our Maker and our Creator.
If we don’t,
our thing may be the very thing
that drives our heart
away from the heart
of our Saviour.
Cry out and He will answer.
Try.
If you fall, get up
and try again, and again, and again.
If you continue to seek His face and
to draw from His strength,
you will gain the victory.
Through Christ, we are more than conquerors! (Romans 8:37)
No”thing” is too hard for our God.

What’s your thing?
Give it to God.
Right here.
Right now.~
